It’s been a pleasure - and much appreciated discipline - to produce the Daily Moment of Calm and Beauty series for the past 30 days. It generated over 5,000 views. I lost some subscribers but gained more.
I am moving into a much larger and more time-consuming resistance project. In an effort to counter-act the current administration’s anti-immigrant stance, I am committing to a book on the contributions of immigrant women to the US. Already, I have volunteers from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. Being an immigrant myself and having done my master’s thesis on the cultural adjustment of foreign students, I have always been interested in people who have crossed cultural borders. What are the challenges we face, what strategies and skills do we develop in the process, what are our unique contributions to the host culture (even when it isn’t hospitable at times)? I am truly excited about hearing each woman’s life story and sharing it with the world later, as a book.
I will turn my “Daily Moment” into bi-weekly posts, probably publishing them on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. In addition, I am hoping to find time for a longer post, at least once a month.
Thank you for following along on this journey.

The February chapter of my book, Seasons of a Wild Life, invites us to hone our perceptions, build resilience, and prepare for the energetic shift that accompany the earliest signs of spring.
YES, Annette!
I'm cheering you on. I relish your posts, your intent and the simple, natural beauty you bring to the world through your words and photography.
Wonderful, thank you, Annette, I am looking forward to your next book on another important issue!
